カナダの大学またはカレッジ（国立、州立、私立の一部）を卒業後にマニトバに定住すると授業料（上限：$2,500/year & $25,000/total）の 60% が毎年 10% ずつ確定申告時に割り戻されるという素晴らしい制度が 2007 年からここマニトバで実施されていたのですが、今月4月11日に廃止が決定した模様。若者に卒業後もマニトバに住んで貰おうと始まったこの制度ですが、文部大臣によりますと、費用対効果が著しく低いそうでこの度廃止ということに。浮いた予算は難民の住居確保や給付型奨学金の増枠に回されるとのこと。
結構アテにしてたのでショックです。頑張って勉強して奨学金ゲットしよう……。
